A dedicated home theater is usually a dedicated room
specifically for watching movies, either on VHS, DVD, Satellite
or Cable. The art of a dedicated home theater is to match the
right audio/video equipment to the space in which they will work.
The space requirement for a dedicated home theater is typically
not multi-use, like the introductory theater configuration. This
room may have other entertainment uses; however, its main purpose
will be movie viewing. Typically in a dedicated setup, all of
the audio components will be selected specifically for the user’s
viewing habits.
Automation is used to control the equipment, as well as the room
lights, etc. in the space. The speaker selection and placement
is geared exclusively for the viewing space, thus the budget will
be higher than the introductory system. The video unit can be
either a rear projection, flat-panel plasma or a multi-media projector.
The viewing size and angles will be configured for the room, bringing
viewers into the movie. The dedicated home theater system is an
excellent movie watching experience and can rival your local commercial
theater.
